About Us

Since 1973 Dave Wyrtzen, our Truth Encounter study leader, has been used by the Spirit of God to help the family of Midlothian Bible Church to understand how Jesus Christ can transform their lives. Truth Encounter exists as a non-profit ministry whose goal is to present the in depth teaching  of God's Word in an easily understood form in order to build the body of Christ. Our purpose is to challenge you to intimacy with the biblical Christ in your daily life by helping you take the truths of Scripture into your Monday morning living.

We would love to hear from you. Please visit our Contact page to send us a note. If you would like to support Truth Encounter financially, please visit our Giving page.

About Dave

Picture of Dave Wyrtzen Above everything else, Dave's gift in the body of Christ is as a pastor-teacher. In 1973 he sat together with about sixteen others in a small town thirty miles southwest of Dallas. These sixteen wanted someone to simply open up the pages of Scripture on a Sunday morning, help them to hear the truth, and then train them on how to live it in the marketplace. Dave is still their pastor and Midlothian Bible Church has grown into a mature church. The Spirit of God has used this church family to generate several other churches in the southwest section of Dallas.

He received both his Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary and is an adjunct faculty member for the seminary. Dave speaks regularly for Bible Conferences such as The Billy Graham Training Center in North Carolina and in many foreign countries. Dave's greatest joy is his wife Mary, their eight children, five grand daughters, and two grandsons. His life goal is to communicate God's truth through the power of the Spirit in powerful, practical, and skillful ways. For 34 years, Dave has faithfully pastored in Midlothian, and, through Truth Encounter, we invite you to join us for his unique depth, passion, and practicality. This Bible teaching is rooted in solid study but lives in the office, classroom, and ball field.
